Masks are currently optional at the Sherwood Center for the Arts This month's foundational truth has been that "Jesus wants to be our friend forever!" ![]() In our Preschool class, we focus on learning several foundational truths about Jesus through the bible stories we hear on Sunday. For instance, a few months ago we have learned about Peace and how God uses us to be peacemakers. In our elementary class, each month has a particular theme/virtue that we learn about in class through different bible stories. We use a curriculum developed by Orange Kids (a ministry devoted to creating content meant to meaningfully reach kids where they are at). Everyone teaching has been background checked and prepared with the content they will be teaching before Sunday morning. We have some incredible volunteers- some of whom are parents of journey kids, and others who simply have a heart for helping kids learn about Jesus and the gospel. We love worshipping together with all ages represented at Journey, so we will release kids to go to class after our worship time at the beginning of our service! Nursery age children can be dropped off any time after 9:50 a.m. You can access it by going out the left door of the main room, and then it's on the right! There will be a sign to signify where to go!Įlementary schoolers will meet in the "green room" to the left of the main room/sanctuary. The stairwell is on the left side of the building, past the first room, and just before the restrooms. Preschoolers will meet in the classroom upstairs. The Nursery is located downstairs around the corner from the Journey Kids check-in Table. We are able to offer a nursery room for infants-2yrs upon request/need. Right now we have three classrooms for our kids at Journey: a Nursery class for children birth-2 yers old, a Pre-school class for ages 3-5, and an Elementary class for grades K-5th, (ages 6-11).
